Show ADMINISTRATION Board of Regents The Board of Regents is undoubtedly one of the strongest forces directly influencing the administration and policy of a university. The competent group comprising this board at the University of Utah has helped the school solve its financial problems and maintain its high standard of learning and culture. Selected by the Governor of the State of Utah on the basis of intelligence, integrity, education, knowledge, and civic reputation, the present board conforms highly to this measure of qualification. The responsibilities entrusted to these men and women in their official capacities as regents are recognized by everyone associated with the university. The present membership is composed of Dr. Clarence Snow, chairman; Mr. D. H. Christensen, Reverend John E. Carver, Mr. Roy D. Thatcher, Dr. John J. Galligan, Mr. James W. Wade, Mrs. Dan B. Shields, Mr. Thomas A. Williams, Mr. Robert Hinckley, Mrs. A. J. Gorham, Dr. Joseph Hughes, and Mr. James Ingebretsen. President George Thomas and Secretary of State Milton H. Welling are ex-officio members. Leon Garrett is secretary of the board succeeding Thomas Hull. Nineteen |
