Show PUBLICATIONS Martha Ross Allen Holt Editor Business Manager The Pen, the campus literary quarterly, is designed to publish students' creative endeavors which cannot rightfully be included in the Chronicle or the Humbug. The Pen office acted as a mecca for all sorts of effusions, sublime and ridiculous, and the staff functioned as a filter to separate the accepted from the rejected. It placed the choicer morsels in the hands of the Pen-reading populace the Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters. Contrary to a natural supposition, the material submitted was not all frothy sound and fury concerned vaguely with the perplexities of life, love and death. The Pen was the recipient of some very interesting literature, curiously indicative of the presence of brain power of the campus; stories and essays which showed a great deal of honest and intelligent observation, besides a well-advanced facility of composition, were not infrequently found in the magazine. The fine quality of literature presented in the Pen under the editorship of Martha Ross was well appreciated by the students and faculty members of the institution.
