Show Captain Sid Kramer, although con fined to the side lines during the larger part of the season due to a severe knee injury, proved to be a capable leader and a great aid to Coach Vadal Peterson in Utah's conquest for the title. Sid was headed for a banner year on the waxed court but misfortune in the initial Montana series played havoc with his chances. Kramer's election came as a result of his flawless performances and exemplary sportsmanship during the 1934 season. He will be fighting for Crimson next year. RESUME OF BASKETBALL SEASON Retaining championship possibilities until the final series of the year, and recognized as the spark that turned the 1935 Western Division race into a heated three way struggle, Utah University, although finishing the campaign four games behind the leaders, displayed one of the most spirited and fighting tempered teams in the history of the school. Unfortunate "breaks" suffered at critical moments had much to do with the failure of the Crimson to win more than five games. Following the ineligibility of Onan Meacham, veteran guard, Peterson experimented freely in desperate effort to find four men who could team effectively with methodical Bill Kinner, all-division center for three seasons. With veterans failing to display previous season ability, Utah met with little success against pre-season opponents, notably Stanford, Denver A. C, and Colorado Teachers. Facing B. Y. U. in the initial conference test on January Nth, Captain Kramer, Kinner, Callis, Miller, and Pendleton received starting calls.
