Show MUSIC The success of student assemblies, dramatic performances, and the music department's grand opera was greatly the result of the fine cooperation the concert orchestra offered the performers. Under the sagacious direction of Professor Arthur P. Freber, the members of this musical organization worked unitedly to produce one of the finest orchestras to be found. A high degree of appreciation was shown Profesor Freber by the various audiences through their generous applause. With a greater diversified program, the concert band functioned with perhaps greater activity than did the concert orchestra. It was required to support the military department, all student athletic contests of major importance, and the executive council's special requests. Bandmaster Clarence J. Hawkins climaxed a successful musical season with many honors showered upon his band; one of which was the high rating given at the military inspection day ceremonies. Two Hundred Twenty-eight |
