Show ADMINISTRATION With deep appreciation for his untiring efforts, the University of Utah pays fitting respect to Dr. Joseph T. Kingsbury, one of Utah's foremost and exalted educators. Having been intimately concerned with the school for fifty-six years, his vital interest has been a propelling force in the advancement of the University from its early beginning to its present expanded state. Dr. Kingsbury has been a pillar of strength in the educational system which was commenced by the early pioneers. Since the United States Congress, as a result of his efforts, appropriated the site of land upon which this University now stands, he has carefully watched "Utah Carry On." After retiring from his duties as President, the honorary title of President Emeritus was conferred upon Dr. Kingsbury. In this capacity, he is concerned with the financial well-being of students, and helps to solve their problems with sympathy, courtesy, and understanding. Kingsbury Hall, characterized by its simplicity and architectural beauty, was erected in his honor, and is a fitting reminder of his sterling character and worthy achievements. Eighteen |
