Show Judy Rosenberg Jackie BackPresidentmortar boardMortar Board Merits, a program designed to honor outstanding professors on campus, was originated by Mortar Board this year. Honored were Dr. Charles H. Monson, philosophy; Dr. Philip C. Sturges, history; Dr. James M. Sugihara, chemistry; and Professor Neil P. Bailey, mechanical engineering. Members of the honorary co-sponsored the Smartee Partee for scholastically outstanding freshman, joined with Cwean and Spurs for an informal meeting and explored an English tutoring program for foreign students. Headed by president Judy Rosenberg, members were selected on a basis of service to the University, leadership and scholastic achieve' ment. Mortar Board represented presidents of Cwean, AWS and Panhellenic and heads of Union Board and Army Sponsors.
