Show Blessed with a spirit which dominated their whole wing, the boys from D wing were hard pressed to find enough activities to satisfy them. Exchanges with all the girl's units were compli-mented by further exchanges with the girls from BYU and Holy Cross nursing school. They found another outlet for their energies in intramural sports which they dominated fall quarter. But these numerous events did not come close to filling their needs, as they turned upon themselves for further entertainment. Card games ran until late at night with bridge dominating the tables. Everyone had a turn at having his room filled with paper and returning the favor. Their nightly water fights initiated a legend which will not soon die. They were also plagued with a fuse puller, and the electric service fluctuated as much as the weather.MEMBERS OF D Wing's Unit Council are (front row) Jack Hales, Ted Balderree, Jack Crocker, Duane Freeman, (row 2) Steve Fausett, president, Jay Adamson and Craig Norton.ballifd wingfirst floor van cott menBuilding tradition and spirit was the primary task on first floor during its first year. Exchanges provided a means for the freshmen to meet new girls and the older members to renew friendships. They parried with all the women's units on campus, celebrating every major and minor event of the year. University sports found them active and vocal members of the RHA cheering section. Intramurals produced action and a competetive spirit. Caroling added merriment at Christmas. A wing dinner featured Wes Bowan from KSL, and was also the first activity presided over by their new queen, Judy Johnson. However, spontaneous activities provided much of their entertainment. These included card games and water fights.MEMBERS OF FIRST floor are (front row) Eddie Chaffer, Stan Johnson, president, Stan Sugita, Ron Lyman, Richard Olson, Doug Ramsay, Grant Walther, Gary Jewett, (row 2) Roger Teed, Lowell Elmer, Mo Clark, Kelly Healy, Terry Chruma, Bill Bowe, Walter Reid, Jim Cowell, (row 3) Allan Speirs, Mike Dixon, Dave Poikers, Nugyun Hien, Allen Marlins, Dave Schultz, Harry Lunt, Bill Stratford, Bill Daines, Richard Nielson, (row 4) Roger Quillin, Larry Timothy and Steve Smith.285 |
