Show Bob Clark PresidentMike Stewart Vice PresidentAnn Rothwell Secretaryasuu senateStriving for a highly functional body, the ASUU Senate swung into action again this year, with Senators representing the four undergraduate classes. The Senate elects its own officers and is divided into five standing committees: Welfare, Structure, Programs, Rules-Styles and Current Events. Any student may serve on a Senate committee, but non-senators do not have a vote.In an effort to broaden its scope, the Senate dealt with topics ranging from integration in Mississippi to bookstore prices. The Senate hoped the resolutions they made would enable them to better meet the needs of students and present opinions on issues which affect the academic community.STRUCTURE COMMITTEE MEMBERS are Trixie Young, Tony Frost, Gayle Muhlestein, Ray Bramble, Jim McBride and Sue Miracle.PROGRAMS COMMITTEE MEMBERS are Sharon Larsen, Jim Bromley, Julie Thody, Hoyt Brewster and Brad Civiello.26 |
