Show VISUAL SURVEY OF LIBERTY PARK AND TRACY AVIARY Central City Neighborhood Council Parks Committee Held Wednesday, November 2, 1977 This tour of Liberty Park and Tracy Aviary was made for the purpose of determining preferences and priorities of the Parks Committee participants and the two guests. John Swain, landscape architect with the Salt Lake City Parks and Recreation Department, had kindly agreed to accompany Committee members on the tour, to explain the possibilities, problems, and technical methods in landscaping, and to share his ideas. We were privileged to have with us for a part of the tour, Karl Haglund, from the Utah Historical Society, to share his knowledge. Committee persons present were Alan Sokolow, Marchant, and Ethel Hale. Chairperson~ Parks Byron We met at Byron Marchant's home at the west side of Liberty Park. Our first examination was of the swimming pool. The poolside building is of interesting architecture, but suffering from lack of appreciation (windows boarded) and neglect. Byron suggested the large pool should have a dome cover and warmed water. Alan agreed |
