Show - 3 - to totally remove and rebuild most of them up to the level of the main floor window lintels. This can be done by inserting heavy shoring through windows sufficient to carry the total weight of wall above while the adobe wall is replaced below, one section at a time: A combination of concrete blocks for hidden wythes and chemically stabilized new clay adobes for exposed wythas is suggested. Reinforcing steel and concrete bond beams can also be installed in appropriate locations in this new masonry. Later on, the upper walls could be strengthened with a continuation of this webb of bond beams and a new outside wythe of chemically stabilized adobes built on the upper walls would complete the return of the whole building ot its 1852 exposed adobe appearance.
