Your receiver begs to submit a general resume of all important matters concerning the maintenance and operation of the canals and other properties of the California Development Company, since his appointment as such receiver, together with a revised statement showing profit and loss, distribution of accounts and final results. Your receiver was appointed by Judge Franklin J. Cole, of the Superior Court of the state of California, county of Imperial, on December 13th, 1909. The first act of your receiver after his appointment was to make a careful examination of the canal system of the California Development Company; this examination disclosed the fact that the entire system was in a dilapidated state, practically no tools with which to put the system in shape; no dredgers at the Intake Canal; in fact, the only dredgers available at any point were the "Gamma" and "Delta," located in the Alamo Canal in Mexico, the ownership of which was claimed by the Southern Pacific Company; many of the structures, built |
