Admitted: May 9, 1957 Supplemental Contract This Agreement, Made this 27th day of January, 1921, between the United States of America, by John Barton Payne, Secretary of the Interior, pursuant to the Act of May 18, 1920 (Public 208, 41 Stat.............), and the Imperial Irrigation District of El Centro, California, hereinafter styled the "District," duly organized and existing under and by vitrue of the laws of the State of California, by J. S. Nickerson, its President, its successors or assigns; Witnesseth: That, 2. Whereas, A contract was entered into between the parties hereto on the 28th day of August, 1920; and, 3. Whereas, The said contract provided for the making of certain surveys and investigations, as required by the Act of Congress above mentioned, such investigations to be carried on to the extent permitted by the funds which said contract made available; and, 4. Whereas, The said investigations as provided for in said contract have now been made to the extent permitted by the funds which the said contract made available, and report of the same has been submitted to Congress as in said Act of Congress provided; and, 5. Whereas, It is desired to continue the said investigation work so as to determine finally the feasibility of the irrigation system contemplated by the said Act of |
