Show __2__ Congress, and so as to enable the United States Reclamation Service and the Secretary of the Interior to determine the relative amounts of the cost of such irrigation system to be borne by the various interested parties, as in said Act provided; and, 6. Whereas, The said Imperial Irrigation District is desirous of facilitating such continuance of the said investigations, and has heretofore appropriated the sum of Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars to be devoted to such purpose; 7. Now, Therefore, In consideration of the promises and mutual covenants and agreements herein contained, it is stipulated and agreed between the parties hereto as follows, to-wit: 8. That upon the execution of this contract, the "District" will deposit the sum of Thirty Thousand ($30,-000.00) Dollars with the Disbursing Officer of the United States Reclamation Service at Denver, Colorado, to be used in the further prosecution of the work which the said Act of May 18, 1920, provides for. 9. That in such further prosecution of the said work of investigating the irrigation-development possibilities of Imperial Valley and the lands adjacent thereto as in the said Act of May 18, 1920, provided, the same shall be done in all ways and respects as the same has been done heretofore to the extent permitted by the funds which the said contract of August 28, 1920, made available. 10. No Member of or Delegate to Congress, or Resident Commissioner, after his election or appointment or either before or after he has qualified and during his continuance in office, and no officer, agent or employee of the Government, shall be admitted to any share or part of |
