Mr. Swino introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Irrigation of Arid Lands and ordered to be printed. A BILL To provide for the protection and development of the lower Colorado River Basin. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 That for the purpose of providing for the regulation, con- 4 trol, and development of the Colorado River, an international, f> interstate, and navigable stream, in accordance with a com- 6 prehensive and unified plan, conserving natural resources, 7 and aiding flood control, water supply, and power develop- 8 limit, the United States hereby reserves to itself the exclusive 9 right to construct, provide, and control dams, reservoirs, or 10 diversion works upon the main trunk of said river below the 11 mouth of the Green River. |
