Q Now, you made the statement that the small boats got stuck several times in that vicinity; is that correct? A I will have to refer to my notes. What was that mileage again, please? Q 3.8. A ( examining document) We struck several bars. I say " we;" when I say " we," I mean the small boat-- at the mouth of Salt Wash, which is at about Mile 3.7, just below. Q And along in there, I think you testified that you struck with the small boat several bars. A We struck several bars just below the mouth of Salt Wash. Q The big boat struck one one time through that area? A The big boat struck one one time through that area. Q Was the small boat ahead or behind there? A I could not say definitely. Generally, we went ahead, because we drew less water. In general, I would say we were ahead of the big boat probably 90 percent of the time, except where I might drop back for a photograph.
