Show 256 The Special Master: You mean the heights of the stream? Mr. Collins: It gives the stream flow records. Mr. Farnsworth: It does not purport to be a cope of all of the readings, does it? The Witness: No, sir. Mr. Farnsworth: The tables do not represent all of the readings taken at the respective stations referred to in them, do they? The Witness: These tables show the yearly run- off at all of the stations for all of the years, the mean monthly run- off from all of the stations for all of the years; the minimum days for each month for all of the years; and the maximum run- off for each month for all of the years; and then studies of deficiency tables which show the number of days of each month that the flow has been less or more than certain amounts. By Mr. Farnsworth: Q. Now, if you please, let me ask you: Are those figures that you have just referred to the figures which are now a part of the records of these gauging stations? A. No. Q. Or are they computations made by you? A. Fully nine- tenths, or all of the figures themselves in here ( indicating) which purport to show discharge in run- off are from the official records of the Geological Survey which are included there. Where I show that the ratio of one month to another month is so and so, it is a computation, 2219 |
