Show 202 throughout the rivers under consideration. Q Well, now, I am referring to these green markings and red markings, apparently in the river bed. A Based on the profiles and the surveys made by the topographers of the Geological Survey, I have shown in red the location and the number of all rapids. By the Special Master: Q Of all what? A Of all rapids. I have shown in green the location where the slope is such that, in all probability, there is rapid water. I have left in white the location where, in all probability, the slope is such that the flow might be termed quiet water, or smooth water. Mr. Farnsworth: In so far as anything represented by these figures that he has just been referring to, these figures or markings, or indexes, or whatever they are, to which he has just been making reference, are concerned, of course, I assume that the Court will not treat them as affirmative evidence of anything. The Special Master: He has just been referring to those red and green lines. Mr. Farnsworth: Yes; he has indicated what he thinks might probably indicate rapid water, and what he thinks might probably indicate something else. I do not think that that is competent evidence of any matter here involved. 2165 |
