Show 295 Q It seems to be on the map a very long stream A A very long stream. It has very little run- off. As I said, there was not enough water in there to float an empty canoe. By Mr. Farnsworth: Q Now, did you in your report make mention of all the difficulties that you had in navigating these streams? A I made no mention in my report of navigation, except as it was defining the bed of the river. It was not a navigation report in any sense of the word. Q You did not in your report, Complainant's Exhibit 75, make any reference to those difficulties that you have described in your testimony, did you? A Except so far as to show that the crossing bars were there. Q You do in your report make reference to difficulties of various kinds in navigation, do you not-- for instance, finding the channel and rough water, the necessity for a very careful handling of the boat at certain points, and so on? A Well, as an indication of the description and character of the river. Q You did not see fit, however, in your report, to make mention of getting stuck on existing sandbars, as bearing on the question of the nature of the bed of the river and-- A I think I have.
