Show 190 bar conditions along the Green River. Q As I understand, Mr. Hoyt, you just selected several specimens as typical of the river in that stretch? A Simply surveyed as typical sidebars throughout the river, with an idea of determining from a study of the surveys how permanent the channel might be. By Mr. Farnsworth: Q Let me interrupt here. Are these bars all given a name and mentioned in your report? A They are all given a name, and photographs showing the different bars are included in the bunch of photographs. The location of the bars is shown on the large exhibits. Plate 30 is typical, showing the wandering of the channel between rock walls, showing the alternate bars as the river swings from side to side, and showing how, on the curves the outer portion is against the talus; how on the inside of the bars there are invariably these bars and willow- covered benches. Q Did you experience any floods while you were south of the San Rafael? A Yes, sir. Q What are you referring to now? A I am referring to Plate 2 of Appendix C of Exhibit 76, on which I show a hydrograph of the flood at Greenriver during September and October 1928 and for the purpose of comparison, the hydrograph of the daily flow during September and 2153 |
