The Witness: I have shown by a small red cross the location of all places where our small boat with the outboard motor got stuck, and required either lifting of the motor or some operation to get the boat removed. By the Special Master: Q Well, you had never been up this place, or down it, had you? A That was my trip going up. Q Well, but this was your first trip? A This was my first trip. On that particular day, Friday, we pulled away at 8: 37; stopped for lunch at Mile 10 at 11: 30 o'clock and camped at Mile 13.5 at 4 p. m.; the average speed upstream was 1.8 an hour. By Mr. Farnsworth: Q Including all stops? A Including all stops. The channel through that stretch alternated from side to side, its location depending partly upon the character of the bends. During the afternoon I did not notice that the big boat got stuck at all.
