The Special Master: Well, I merely made that as a suggestion. Mr. Farnsworth: And I doubt the competency of such evidence if it were done. Now, I assume that the other side have at their disposal comparatively unlimited resources to present their case. Mr. Collins That is not true, Mr. Farnsworth, at all. Mr. Blackmar: At any rate, we can cross that bridge when we come to it. Mr. Farnsworth: If there is anything of that kind to be done, and we thought it would aid the Special Master, and we thought it proper, it might be that we could join in the cost of a thing of that sort, and have an entirely disinterested person come here and present a picture of it. The Special Master: It is not a question of surveys at all; and I am not prepared to rule on it now. In thinking the matter over, it simply occurred to me that, inasmuch as the court has ruled as to certain rivers-- for instance, it has ruled that the Snake River is navigable-- that I could suggest that it might be of interest to have the figures on the Snake River for comparison.
