Show 191 October, 1925, which was an exceptionally high period off for September and October; and also September and October 1924, which was an extremely low run- off. On the 27th of September, there was a flood which had a peak -- this is quoting directly from page 7 -- The Special Master: Of your report? The Witness: Of my report. " On the 27th of September, the mean flow, as reported at the gauging station, was 2,830 second- feet. The mean flow on the 28th was 4,000 second- feet. During that night the flood reached a stage of 6,000 second- feet at 4 a. m., as shown by the recording gauge records. On October 4th, there was a flood which reached the stage of 16,400 second- feet. On October 15 there was a flood which reached a peak of 16,000 second- feet; and on October 31, there was a peak flood of 7,980 second." The Special Master: These were all taken at Greenriver. The Witness: All taken at Greenriver. Now, we were in the canyon, and experienced the flood of October 14th and 15th. By Mr. Blackmar: Q Whereabouts in the canyon were you? By the Special Master: Q What do you mean -- a sudden rise? A A sudden rise. A flood of 16,000 second- feet in October is a considerable flood for that paricular period of the year at Greenriver. 2154 |
