Show May 2, 1957 -5- Whereas, it seems that a better method of 'strengthening our present health laws would come through enactment of health ordinances by the var ious cities and counties, Now, therefore, be it resolved that we, the members of the Utah Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, in annual convention assembled, pledge ourselves and our organizations to work for the improvement of health c oo.ditions in our state through the enactment of sanita or dinances in our respective communities. -- (2) Whereas, Utah ranks high in the list of reporting automobile fatalities, and Whereas, it appears that more uniform traffic laws and standard traffic signals throughout the states western states would serve alities, Now, therefore, we, to reduce these fat the members of the Utah Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, in annual convention assembled, pledge our selves to work for a highway traffic our in uniform state. more regulation of Mrs. Pittman explained that only two major res olutions were presented with the idea that it was better to concentrate on two worthwhile projects than to spread the efforts of the Federation over a wider range and ot accomplish constructive results. Upon motion of Mrs. Pittman, seconded by Amelia Buckl, 'and carried, the Resoltions of Apprec iation as read by Mrs. Pittman,.were accepted. The re port of the Resolutions Committee is attached and made a part of the minutes of this meeting. Buckley reported on the results of the the St. George Club had won that Song Contest, stating first place, and honorable mention was· given to the'Tooele Club. Miss Cheever expressed the pleasure of the Federa tion in presenting the $5.00 prize to the St. George Club.
