Show MINUTES OF THE LuNCHEON MEETING OF THE CONVENTION OF THE UTAH STATE FEDERATION OF BUSINESS ijD PROFESSIONAL WOMEN'S CLUBS HELD AT ZION'S LODGE AT 2:00 P. M. MAY 2, 1957. , Brown, Second Viee-President, presided. Mrs. Almeda P. Mrs. Brown the Convention. expressed pleasure in taking part in Musical numbers consisted of piano so.los by Miss Clara Woodhouse and vocal solos by Martin Iverson. Mrs: Brown briefly discussed the activities of the various committees which corne under her supervision as Second Vice-President and announced that the subject, "MY Legacy to My Successor" would be discussed by State Com mittee Chairmen. Mrs. Erma Lomax, Personal Research, stated among things, that she felt her successor could determine what elective and appointive pUblic offices were available for women, list the requirements, and encourage women to become qualified for them. other ' Mrs. Winifred P. Legislation"among other Ralls, suggestions, reported that she would like to see the standards raised in regard to health and sanitation through out the state and to see fewer' automobile casualties' occur, on each of which points her successor might make needed progress. Miss Lenora Romer, Public Relations, stated that she desired the seventeen Utah Clubs to become actively engaged m some project, suggested that her successor might early determine the names of the Public Relations Chairmen of local clubs; that every club work together cooperatively and not en gage in the activities of other organizations, but cooperate with them in civic enterprises. , Miss Glaqys McConnell, International Relations, suggested that her successor get material from the National Federation in connection with the Committee work early in the year and send it on to the local clubs. Mrs. Martha Anderson, Magazine, suggested that the incoming Chairman obtain the Federation Handbook and write to National Federation for material in order that she may know her responsibilities, and accomplish results accordingly. |
