With Rhea Taylor as chairman our bylaws have been revised approved by the members and the State, and are now printed to go in our loose-leaf handbooks. Many clubs from many states have requested information on our 1963 National Award program, "School Desk to Office De sk'", which we have been happy to send. year's program was enlarged and again ,participated in by many club members sharing·their vast knowledge and experience with the girl graduates from the Provo High in the field of business and it was most helpful to them. This as Every member of the Provo Club has participated in the club program this year an appointed chairman, or as a member of a an elected officer, working committee and each of her one deserves position. This and thanks for the way she has assumed the responsibility is what has made the 1963-64 club year so successful. praise very Josephine Yergensen ROOSEVELT Our club has members and held had very successful and educational yearo meetings each month which were well attended. a geared to Personal Development Civic Participation We added Our President eight programs and World Affairs. new were In carrying out the theme "Responsibility for Full Partnershipl!9 our club chose "Spotlight on Youth" as a special projecto Each month we honored an outstanding girl by inviting her to be a guest at our meeting and paying tribute to her for the activities which brought her this honor. We sponsored a girl to Girls State at Logan. We had a panel of six high school students discuss the controversial issue "Medicare" at one meeting and have used the talents of young people on our programs throughout the year. We donated $25.00 to the Science Fair which was held at Union High School in which students from all elementary s Junior high, and high schools in the Uintah Basin participated. each week we We set up an employment agency for the youth of our community and list in the local newspaper the names and telephone numbers of those who wish employment. We feel our "Spotlight on Yout h" has been a very young people worthwhile project and has made the club members and the young people standing and appreciative more under of each other. Our Bossesn Breakfast was held at 730 a.m. Week and was attended by 37 members and guests. during National Business Womenos Nine members attended the District Convention held at Vernal in October where several State Officers were present and spoke to the group. We have also been represented at the regional Youth Council meeting and other State and district meetings, as well as those called by local civic organizations. |
