The Price BPW Club presents La Verna Wall as a candidate for re election to the office of state treas urer. LaVerna was born in Ferron, Utah, in July 1916. She is a high school graduate. Since her marriage to Morris A. Wall of Castle Dale, Utah, she has had business experience in selling and sewing demonstrations in Montgomery Ward of Salt Lake City; bookkeeping in Murray City Power and Light Com pany; selling and home demonstra tions in ranges and laundry equip ment for the company during the time it was a corporation. She and her husband purchased the business from the corporation in 1954 and since that time have operated it as the Wasatch Furnace Company at Price. She does all the bookkeeping and disbursing of funds. She has re ceived a letter complimenting her on her accuracy and promptness in her business and sales tax reports sent quarterly to the State Sales Tax Com mission. She feels proud to have had this compliment. LaVerna has been a member of the Price BPW Club for 13 years, serving such offices as corresponding secre tary, membership chairman, district secretary-treasurer, fund-raising pro ject chairman, and now as state treas urer. She also served as club for two terms. LaVerna is the mother president of four children, all married, and has eight grand-children. She has tried to serve all club treasurers courteously and promptly and to keep accurate records of all moneys entrusted to her keeping this past year. Convention The Salt Lake and Professional League of Business Women presents, with pleasure, Helen Leavitt as a candidate for the office of state treas urer of the Utah Federation. Helen has been very active in BPW since 1956. She has twice served as treasurer of the Salt Lake League, and has held most all committee chairmanships, including finance. At the present time in addition she is serving as secretary-treasurer of the North Central District. Presen tly Helen works as reserva tion secretary for the Salt Lake City Parks Department, a position she has capably filled for the past ten years. Her employment requires that most she deal with thousands and thou sands of people, facts and figures, and discharged her assignment with high efficiency and integrity. Prior to joining the Parks Depart she has ment Helen served as four years, the first time this posi tion was ever held by a woman, and for the Public for two years. A strange evidence of qualifications for the office she seeks is the fact that in every in stance of group or club participation, she has at one time or another served her as finance chairman or treasurer.
