The Surf-scoter has been obtained in Jamaica, according to Gosse, only once. March also says it is very rare. Genus 5. TACHYERES. rj. Micropterus, Less. Traite d'Orn. p. 630 (1831) .. T. cinereus. Hab. Falklands (Pernetg, Abbott) ; Magellan Straits (Cunningham); Chili, Valdivia (Ph. et Landb.). This peculiar Sea-duck, originally discovered in the Falklanu Islands, is found also on the west coast of S.
