Show 1876.] THE SECRETARY ON ADDITIONS TO THE MENAGERIE. 273 March 7, 1876. Dr. A. Gunther, F.R.S., V.P., in the Chair. The Secretary read the following report on the additions to the Society's Menagerie during the month of February, 1876 :- The total number of registered additions to the Society's Menagerie during the month of February was 67, of which 36 were acquired by presentatiou, 21 by purchase, 5 by exchange, 3 were bred in the Gardens, and 2 were received on deposit. The total number of departures during the same period, by death and removals, was Ill. The most noticeable additions during the month of February were as follows :- 1. An example of the very singular Cervine form lately described by Mr. Swinhoe in the Society's' Proceedings' as Lophotragu8 michianu8 (P. Z. S. 1874, p. 452). This animal was procured by Mr. A. Michie, of Shanghai (the discoverer of the species), in the Ningpo district of China, and forwarded to this country for sale. We purchased it from his agent on the 12th ult. for £35.
