I heard Mother say that when they got ready to leave England, their Missionary President, went to see her Mother & he put his arm around her Mothe.r & said. II mrs 'i'aylor this daughter of yours is the most presious child you have, Mother said "I could never understand what he ment by that," Till we moved over her End started to do Temple Work, then she said, II I know now what he ment," he ment we would do their Temple Work. lather ~ Mother's family was all active in the South Weber L.D.S. Ward. Father being in the bishipric went to all the ward parti t : dances, He was A very joly person and liked to step dance at times, At the dances they quite often hac him out on the floor st , -dancing during intermission. Father used to be A jolly person & liked to play jokes on other people, I never heard him swear or use bad langue, The only thin he used to ARy when he got real mad was "You Dang big block head". I never heard the boys avverswear around home, Father was never ~ swell singer, but he used to sing A few of the old timer's, I have h:lm sing this one many times. " My Grandfather'S clock was to l ' rge for the shelf, so it stood 90- years on the floor, ~O years with that slumber:lng, tick-tick--tick-tick, life second numbering, tick- tick-tick-tick, But it stoped short never to go again, when the old man died. My Mother wa~ A more quiet person, ~e nev~r heard her Singing around much, ~he only song I remember her singing , ~as "Mother may r go in swiming, 15es my darling up.ughter, hang your cloths on A hickery bush, but dont go near the water • ..,he left bngland when she lVas 18- years of age, & nev.er seen nny of her folks since, the only relitave she ever seen since she come over here was her sister's daughter, which come over here ~ever · l years ago. Jhe has been back to England, once for h visit for ii short time. When my parents first moved to Ogden they lived on the bench, between 2lst.-& 20th-across the stree to the south of the old deaf& blind school, they had 5 ch:lldren at this adress. Thera were lots of Indians around at that til It was nothing to ~ee A big Indian put his face up to the w~ndow & look in. |
