Show RIO GRANDE RECTIFICATION CONVENTION 455 " (e) That agreement between the two Governments provide for the excnange of one-half of the area required for right-of-way and the total area of detached tracts of each country. "(f) That the total proratable cost of four million nine hundred thirty two thousand three hundred dollars ($4.932,300)3 be divided between Mexico and the United States on the basis of twelve per cent (12%) and eighty-eight per cent (88%) respectively, and that each Government provide annually such required appropriations as will complete the work in four or five years. "(g) That the agreement between the two countries provide for the jurisdiction of the International Boundary Commission over all mat- ters concerning the rectified channel. " (h) That this Commission be authorized to adopt such rules and regulations as it may deem necessary to the end that the preservation of the rectified channel may be perpetuated. "(i) That each country hold the other immune from all private or national claims arising from the construction and maintenance of the rectified channel or any other cause whatsoever in connection with this project. Related, legislation.-By the Act of February 9,1940 (54 Stat. 21), it was provided that "upon the acceptance of this Act by the State of Texas all of the parcels or tracts of land lying adjacent to the territory of the State of Texas, which were acquired by the Government of the United States by virtue of the convention * * * signed February 1, 1933, shall be and become a geographical part of the State of Texas and shall be under the civil and criminal jurisdiction of the said State, without affecting the ownership of the said lands." Caballo dam.-The dam referred to in paragraph (2) of Minute No. 129 is now known as Caballo dam.
