Show 5725 175 sideration. Q Mr. Miser, what dam sites on the San Juan River were under consideration at that time? A At that particular time, no sites were being con-sidered on the San Juan River. The only sites being con-sidered on the San Juan River, and the Colorado below the mouth of the San Juan, at that time was the Glen Canyon site. The elevation of Lee Ferry was such, and the proposed height of the dam at the Ferry was such, that the water would be raised in the reservoir to an elevation of 3900 feet above sea- level. So there were really no sites on the San Juan under consideration at that time. Bur I felt it essential to examine all possible favorable sites on the San Juan so that, if they should be considered at some future time, there would be information available regarding the sites. And after my return to Washington, Mr. Larue and I went over the situation, and picked out a number of favorable sites, and as a result of that conference, I prepared and submitted to the United States Geological Survey a report describing those particular sites.
