Show 5620 70 3627 Hite- D A Of course, at times it moves faster and there is more of it; but each year the water will boil up, and it will crack in the night. I have been on the shore camping at night, and heard the water boil there for a little while, and then it would be still, and after a while it would some again. Q What do you mean by boiling? A Well it just come up like boiling water. It just comes up and is cracking and exploding almost; I never saw it in that part of the canyon, only in high water, one trip I made to Lees Ferry. They called it sand waves, and I think it was, because the water was so thick that you could pretty nearly step on it. It made not more than a foot high, and they would keep on increasing until they would get up four or five feet, and level out again. And it would start with these boils coming up, that have capsized boats. That is the way Mr. Frank Brown was drowned. By Mr. Farnsworth: Q Were you present when in was drowned A No, I was not; McDonald told me about it. Mr. Farnsworth. I move to strike out that lastremark. The Special Master. Strike than out.
