Show 5557 3565 Hite- D 7 A We built a boat or barge; we bought the lumber in Salt Lake City, and shipped it to Greenriver; freighted it to Hit, built a boat and lodged the material on it. Q What kind of a boat did you build? A Well, it was more in the nature of a scow, a big flat boat. Q Could you give me the approximate size and draft of it? A I do not think would draw to exceed five or six inches loaded. The dimensions of the boat I would not attempt to give you. I think it was about twenty foot on the bottom, long, and about ten foot beam, but I am not positive about that; possibly an eight foot beam. Q But at any rate, somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty by ten. A Yes, sir. Q Do you recall what season of the year you took that equipment down? A I think it was in April, the latter part of April, or the first of May. By Mr. Farnsworth: |
