Show 91 -- 87-- This is " the large motorboat that met us at the junction". R. 195. It had a 2 1/ 2 foot draft. The Plates in Complainant's Exhibit No. 10, show that the Green River between the mouth of the San Rafael and its junction with the Colorado River, is not " what you would call straightway river; it is winding, tortuous throughout, as shown by these river surveys." R. 195. Between Mile 7 and 8 it is approximately straight for that particular mile, and also between Miles 35 and 37 it is practically straight. R. 195. Between Mile 27 and 29, about two miles, it has the characteristics of a straight river. The curve shown on Plate 33 of Complainant's Exhibit No. 10, that is marked at one an EE and the other DD, between Miles 61 and 68, is known as the Benito Bend, or the Horseshoe Bend. The distance around that curve is approximately 7 miles, between 6 3/ 4 and 7 miles, and just about a quarter of a mile across the neck. R. 196. " On these plates, [ Complainant's Exhibit No. 10] I have shown in red ink, by number and initials, all photographs made by me and referred to me, in [ Complainant's] Exhibit 77. I have also shown, by means of red arrows, the location and the number and volume number of all photographs in the files of the Geological Survey that have been made by the various engineers who have traversed the river."
