Show 18 -- 15-- through Cataract Canyon. " By Mr. Farnsworth: " Q Are they at any particular rapids - Rapids No. 5, or where? " A I think that that is No. 5. " Q Still No. 5? " A Yes; it is either No. 5 or No. 23. " By the Special Master: " Q On these photographs, you say the photograph shows the river at relatively high level of water, as indicated by quantities of driftwood. Is this the general nature of the driftwood that you refer to as being in the river at portions of the river? " A ( Examining photograph) Yes, sir. " Q You spoke of the logs. It looks like rather small branches to me. " A They are. There are fewer large logs; and yet in this picture ( indicating), made at the junction of the two rivers, you will note that there are a good many large logs. " Q Yes; but I was thinking that in here ( indicating) it looks more like branches. " A In Exhibit No. 31, you will notice things as large as railroad ties, for instance, which are large logs that had been swept down." R. 59- 60.
