Show Record connected with our party. I met him the first time at Bullfrog Creek. There were two others in his division of the party. He 1498 came down Bullfrog Creek from Salina with the truck. His party was a supply party. Mr. Wimmer was at our camp until we left. I don't recall seeing any other boats on my first expedition. I believe Tom Humphrey had one, just a small row boat. I do not recall seeing any other boats besides his, except that dredge at the mouth of Bullfrog out in the river. It was an aban-doned mining dredge. There were no signs of places where the dredge had been working. I stated on my direct examination that I left the boat at Bullfrog for Mr. Wimmer to use in hauling supplies. I meant hauling 1500 supplies in the boat on the river from Bullfrog to where they were needed below when we came back through the cataract. This boat was left there before we came through Cataract Canyon our first expedition. My second trip was one where I started from Greenriver, 1501 Utah, down the river. We left Greenriver about the middle of September with three boats, one a motor boat. On our way down from Greenriver to the head of the Cataract Canyon we made about four camp. I think it tock us about five days to make the trip. I don't remember where we camped the first night. I don't remember what time we left Greenriver the first day. I have no recollection 1502 whether we went down below the San Rafael the first day or not. I have no recollection where we camped the second day. We camped on the left side of the river on a big bar I remember. That was about half way between Greenriver, Utah, and the junction. We camped there about the third night out. I don't remember any place we camped further up the river than that and I do not remember any place we camped on the river down below that until we reached the head of Cataract Canyon. I think it took three days to go from there to the head Cataract Canyon. We figured out the distance from Greenriver, Utah, to the mouth of the Green River as 120 miles. 1504 We did no running of lines on our way down to the junction, and made |
