Show Record On the wells West of Greenriver, they encountered showings of oil. No oil has been actually taken out. They haven been operating until just recently. The wells on the Gibson Dome have been shut down. 1027 The country on the East side of the Green River and then over toward Moab, the canyon has steep walls, and there is not 1028 much bottom land, and the canyon does not begin for some distance below Greenriver City. My familiarity with that country is from Miller canyon down, about half way from Greenriver City to the confluence. Complainant's Exhibits 127 to 144, inclusive, being photographs of the country west of the Green River, were received in evidence. The photographs are typical of the country down there, that is midway between Greenriver and the mouth of the Green River and as far westward as I went. 1030 Harold W. C. Prommel testified on cross examination as follows: Complainant's Exhibit 138 was taken 2/ 1/ 2 miles below the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers, about at the start of Cataract Canyon, looking up stream. 1031 I spoke of that country west of Greenriver that I had personally visited as being a wind- blown sand country. I am not familiar with the Imperial Valley in California. I haven't enough knowledge of that section to know whether that was a wind- blown or sand- blown desert before they reclaimed it. My life's work and study has been along the lines that I indicated in stating my quali-fications. 1032 Harold W. C. Prommel on re- direct examination testified as follows: I used 2 row boats, 15 feet long and 4 feet wide, during my work on the Colorado River. They probably drew 12 inches of water when loaded. I was on the river 4 or 5 times crossing it, - 141- |
