Show Record Complainant's Exhibits 122, being a map of the country West of Green river, was received in evidence. West of Green river oil wells have been drilled at French Seep, about 65 miles south of the town of Greenriver, or about 10 miles west of the junction of the Colorado and the Green river; between Barrier creek and Greenriver, by the Phillips Company, 1011 about 45 miles south end 3 miles west of the town of Greenriver, then the Texas Company drilled a well about 50 miles south and about 10 or 12 miles west of Greenriver town. The supplies for these wells were taken in by automobile truck from Greenriver City. 1012 In the neighborhood of Indian creek, on Gibson Dome, south of the town of Moab, 3 or 4 wells were drilled. Exhibit 123 is a map of anticlines in parts of southern Utah, showing roads, the courses of the Colorado, Green and other rivers, the principal groups of mountains and the railroads. Complainant's Exhibit 123 was received in evidence. 1013 Indian creek is about 30 miles south Moab. The wells were drilled about 10 miles from the Colorado River. The materials for those wells were taken in by automobile. Five wells I believe have been drilled in the neighborhood 1015 of Shafer No. 1. The drilling of those wells started in the winter of 1924. 1016 Near the San Juan River, in 1926- 1927 there was one well drilled on the San Juan anticline; another well on Cedar mesa, north of the San Juan river; another well considerably north of the San Juan on the Elk ridge anticline. These wells are west and northwest of Bluff. The San Juan well is right on the bank of the San Juan River; the Cedar mesa well is about 4 or 5 miles from the river, and the Elk Ridge well is about 45 miles north of the San Juan River. The supplies for those wells were taken in by automobile. All of the wells that I have mentioned were drilled under government permit. 1018 Exhibit 124 shows the location of these wells near the - 139- |
