Show Record I would say on the Green River between Greenriver, Utah, and the mouth of the Green River, and between the mouth of the Green River and Shafer well No. 1 on the Colorado River, the river 1080 conditions were substantially the same. As to the beds of the rivers, as I see it, there is not a great deal of difference. There is more water on the Green River, and I expect the navigation up stream would be a little easier, although I have never tried it. 1081 I do not particularly mind going up the Colorado River in a row boat from the mouth of the Green River to Moab. It is hard work. I should judge it would be hard work going up any 1082 river in a row boat. I got to Lockhart and left my boat there and 1083 I was in a hurry to get home. I got my supplies for the trip from Green River, Wyoming, Jensen, Utah, and Greenriver City, Utah, all points on the river. I was alone on that trip. 1089 My next trip on the river was in 1924, I believe. I started at Greenriver, Utah, and went to Lees Ferry. I got my sup-plies for that trip at Greenriver, Utah, and carried them with me in my boat. My brother was with me on that trip. I made all the dis-tance by boat. 1090 My next trip on the Green River was in the winter of 1925. I started from Ouray, Utah, and left the river at Moab. I went down the Green River to its junction with the Colorado and then up |
