Show Record In running the rapids we would remove the stuff that was in the open compartments of the boat and would carry that around some of the rapids. There are lots of rapids where it would be 832 good judgment to line the boats, but we did not line them in Cataract canyon, with the exception of the rapid at Dark canyon. In attempting to run this rapid my boat was thrown upon one of the islands where the water was crossing between and was held on the 834 rocks and I was marooned about 50 feet from the shore. I finally 835 got to shore. The boat remained there all night. We removed all the material from the boat and the next day I made another attempt 836 to run the rapid with the boat.
