Show 1 Developments in the Maceratio of Papermaking Material HE first material used for writing that ha any resemblance to paper was papyrusan it is thought this substance came into us as early as 3700 B. C.,an antiquity almos beyond comprehension, Papyrus was made fro the inner bark of a plant having a soft cellular ste of triangular form, that grew along the river Nile The plant grew from ten to twenty feet in heigh and was covered with a laminated barlk consistin of some twenty different layers. These films wer stripped off and cut into pieces of even length an laid singly, side by side, upon flat stone or woo surface, forming the size sheet required.
