Show 565 activities, to render practical and meaningful the moral teachings of the New Testament. his book by the same title. One of our legacies is It will stir our own souls in this same endeavor in the days ahead. His service to the University and to education needs no enumeration here. This service stands in history. It was the framework within which Dean Bennion, the man, the father, hUSband, teacher, administrator, and religious leader, carried forward his mission. Now, at the hour of earthly farewell, we remember most of all his kindly, penetrating insight, his soft-spoken expression - like the still, small voice of conscience - behind which loom the voices of mankind, crying out for light and truth and freedom; to do unto others as Christ held men should. In this way, we have come more deeply to realize the nature and destiny of man. We have begun to acquire the social consciousness and the regard for other men in other lands that inheres in the dictum: " Ye shall know the truth; and the truth shall make you free. " I am sure I speak for the whole University community in submitting these sentiments. s/ A. Ray Olpin President |
