Show 344 Regent Bamberger moved that all recommended ACADEMIC APPOINTMENTS TO academic appointments be referred to the Faculty Com- BE REFER- mittee which, in turn, will report to the Board. Regent RED TO THE FACULTY Adam S. Bennion seconded the motion, which carried. COMMITTEE At this point the representatives of the newspapers were excused. ARCHITECT ASHTON DIS- Chairman O'Connor introduced Mr. Ray Ashton, CUSSES of the firm of Ashton, Evans and Brazier, Architects, HOME LIVING , CENTER PRO-whose Staff is furnishing the architectural services for JECT; APPEALS FOR FUNDS; the Home Living Center, now under construction on the FINANCE COM‘ MITTEE TO upper campus, and invited him to address the Board on 1 STUDY matters pertaining to the project; Mr. Ashton acknowledged the introduction and stated that he had requested this audience with the Board without the knowledge of Mr. Sterling Sill, who has promoted this project by raising funds, obtaining materials and the services of architects and construction companies. Mr. Ashton stated his firm had been working closely with Dr. Virginia Cutler, Head of the Department of Home Economics, during the construction of the Home-Living Center project. He pointed out that the'project started out on a small scale, but as construction progressed, it has been enlarged and costs have risen. |
