Show 5&8 informed the League of Women Voters, of her find- ings concerning the condition of the Stadium Village. (reported last Board meeting) The following recommendation of the Deans' Council was presented: To: President Olpin From; Subj: February 13, 1953 Dean Geerlings Change of date of assessment of late registra- tion fee; for Board of Regents' Agenda. The Deans' Council at their meeting on February 12 approved an earlier date, namely March 24, 1:00 p.m. , instead of March 25 at which the late registra- tion fee shall be assessed. The reasons, therefore, are the following: (1) Students currently enrolled may and should register ant the advanced registration period assigned to them March 6 and 7. All classes are cancelled on these dates and students may register according to an alphabetical schedule at the time assigned to them or later. There is, therefore, no excuse except illness for students not to register during the advanced registration. (2) Registration of all new students (those not registered in the winter quarter) has been scheduled for March 24 in order to permit adequate counselling for these incoming students. It is extremely important that students who could have pre-registered earlier do not interfere with the registration process. (3) Faculty committees will be on duty March 24 in the morning to take care of all new students. Registration would normally close as soon as all of these students have been counselled and registered. In other words, all students, both currently registered and now, will have an opportunity to register at the time assigned. This, of course, excepts the student who was ill or otherwise indisposed and these can be handled on an individual basis by the Registrar's |
