Q What is your recollection as to how long it was dry that year? A Oh, I would say a month or six weeks, something like that. Q And after it ceased to be dry, what was the nature of the flow? Did the rains come and bring it back to normal, or less than normal, or what? A I think it came back to normal, as I remember it, anyway. Q Aside from that year when the river was dry for a time, I wish you would state what the depth was at the shallow-est place in the channel, at the shallowest place that you have ever forded the river. A Well, the river, fording the river, as I recall it, would vary from possibly your horse's knees, two feet, two and a half feet deep, to swimming water. |
