I have seen boats at Cable camp, and I think possibly at the Mexican hat section. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q That was in later years, I take it? A Yes. Q At what places on the river? A Well, I saw a boat going up stream at the mouth of the Comb wash, or the Barton cabin, we called it, an old trading post close to the mouth of Comb wash. Q Do you know where they were going? A No sir, I don't. Q How many men were there in any boat or boats you saw at the point? A possibly five, -- four or five men with the boat. Q how were they getting it up stream? A They were towing it in places; in places they would row it. Q Have you seen any boats going up stream at other points on the river? |
