Show 203 6390 4381 Perkins- D A There has been, right at Mexican Hat, some Navajo sheep that has been bought on the other side of the river and brought over just for a short time around the Mexican Hat country, but there is no sheep goes on to Elk ridge, up through that part of the territory. Q I am talking about that section down around Mexican Hat say between there and Chinle creek. A Chinle? Q Yes, have they handled any sheep in there clear back as far as you know? A There is an Indian there, called Jim Joe, at the mouth of Comb, that has a little bunch of sheep and a little farm there on the bottom; he runs them right close to the river there, not very far away from the river. Q Have you ever seen any of those men cross sheep over the San Juan river? A Only at the bridge at Mexican Hat Q In selecting a crossing for your cattle you usually try to find a hard bottom place, don't you?
