Show 204 6391 4382 Perkins- D remember whether it is on the other side or not; I wouldn't say; I think it is slick rock where they come out of the river on the other side, bed rock. Q That is, it is a hard bottom crossing? A Yes sir, that is termed a hard bottom there above the bridge at Mexican Hat. Q Have you ever been above or below these crossings? A I have just been a little ways below on the rim to get some cattle out. Q Did you cross the river there? A No sir, I didn't cross the river. Q So you don't know whether the water is deeper below or above these crossings than it is at the crossing? A I think the deepest water is just below where we crossed, just a little ways below; it goes to a narrow channel just below where we cross our cattle and above the bridge. Q At Chinle creek, is that a hard bottom crossing or a sand bottom? A Yes sir, it was a very good crossing at Chinle; I think just below the mouth of Chinle is where the crossing was; I crossed there with a wagon. |
