BM How many years to move all those places from California? EL Well, it depends on ... how long ... they have jobs, you know , to finish this jobs, some jobs we can finish depends on the size of the job we had to do so that is how long we had to ... BM So you did the travelling to those different states for just a ... EL Maybe sometimes one month, month and a half, two months then I move someplace else, or move back again ... and so on. BM Did you get married in California, is that where you get married? EL No, here in Salt Lake City, BM Oh, here in Salt Lake. Why did you decide to stay in Salt Lake, what were some of the reaoons? EL Well, the ... the reason ... the biggest reason was that I was getting too old to be moving from place to place and nothing to account for, so ... then I decided to start buying a home here in Salt Lake City. In 1949 the highway, the State Highway Department, they bought the house I was buying, so I had to sell it, because they told me that if I didn't sell it for the price they offer me, then it was going to be tearing down any way ... so take it or leave it, whatever they offer me, that was my only choice. |
