EL Well ... because I stayed out there, because I had ... the crops, then my father, he had ... a little crop there and I had to stay there to finish up, and after I gathered up everything, then I had ... whatever little money I could get so I come too. BM Did they write to you while they were in Colorado? EL Oh, yes. BM What did they have to say about Colorado, or the United States, did they like it? EL Oh yes, they were very proud of it, so ... my sister ... she was married, and her husband was working then for the railroad company too, but years later he became a farmer here in the United States, so he was ... farming in .. Keenesburg, Colorado. BM He also worked for the railroad, what railroad, do you remember? EL No, I don't remember exactly. BM How many brothers and sisters did you have? EL Well, living? |
